Privacy Policy
Desktop app · Version 1.0 · In effect since 25 August 2026 · Current version
This policy covers the Prio desktop app (the "App") on macOS, Windows and Linux. The website at prio.now is a different thing collecting different data, and has its own policy.
The short version: your memory is a set of files on your own machine. We do not have it, we cannot read it, and nothing in this policy is us explaining why we needed a copy.
Who is responsible
Zondax AG is the controller for the little that we do process.
Zondax AGDammstrasse 166300 ZugSwitzerlandData protection questions go to dataprotection@zondax.ch. Anything else about Prio goes to hello@prio.now.
Where your memory lives
On your machine, in ordinary files you can open, read, copy, move and delete with any tool you already have. Not in our account, not in our database, not on a server we run.
This is a product decision before it is a privacy one. The files are plain and portable so they keep working with any agent, and keep working if you stop using Prio. A format only we can read would be a worse product and a worse deal.
It also means the ordinary privacy questions mostly do not arise. We cannot show you what we hold about your memory, because we hold none of it. Deleting it is deleting the files.
What actually leaves your machine
Four things, and each one is a thing you did:
- What you send to an AI tool. Connecting Prio to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, Gemini or anything else means that tool can read the memory you give it access to. That content goes to that provider, under your agreement with that provider. It does not come to us, and we are not a party to it.
- What you choose to share. Sharing part of your memory with someone else or with their agent sends exactly what you selected, to whoever you selected, when you say so. Nothing is shared by default.
- Update checks. Like any software that can update itself, the App asks whether a newer build exists. That request carries the version and platform it is asking about. It does not carry your memory.
- Agent payments, if you use them. See below.
What we do not collect
No telemetry in the default configuration. The App does not report what you do with it, which features you touch, how long you use it, or what is in your memory.
If we ever add optional diagnostics, they will be off until you switch them on, and this policy will say so before they exist rather than after. Consent to the processing described here is not consent to a different set.
AI tools you connect
The AI tools are yours, running under your own accounts with those providers. Prio hands them memory you have given them access to; what each provider then does with it is governed by its own terms and its own privacy policy, which are worth reading and are not ours to summarise.
You choose which tools are connected and can disconnect any of them at any time. Disconnecting stops further access; it does not reach into a provider and delete what they already received.
Agent payments
If you turn on agent payments, your agents can pay for what a task needs inside limits you set. Making a payment means payment details go to a payment provider, which handles them; we do not store card numbers.
We keep a record of what was spent so the App can show you a receipt history and enforce the limits you set. That record is about transactions, not about the content of your memory.
Why we are allowed to
- Performing our agreement with you, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: running the App you installed, including update checks and, if you use them, payments.
- Your consent, Article 6(1)(a): anything optional you switch on. Withdrawable at any time, without affecting what was lawful beforehand.
- Our legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f): keeping the software working and secure.
Zondax AG is a Swiss company, so the revised Federal Act on Data Protection applies alongside the GDPR. Where the two differ, we apply whichever gives you more.
How long we keep it
Your memory: for as long as you keep the files, which is entirely your decision and not ours to make.
Payment records: for as long as accounting and tax law requires them to be kept, which in Switzerland is ten years.
Mail you send us: while the conversation is live, and afterwards only where we have a reason to keep it.
What you can ask us to do
The same rights the website policy sets out apply here: access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent. Write to dataprotection@zondax.ch and we answer within a month.
For most of it the honest answer will be that we have nothing to give you, because the memory is on your machine and never reached us. Where we do hold something, such as a payment record, the rights are real and we will act on them.
You can also complain to a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, in the EEA the authority where you live or work.
What we do not do
- No automated decision-making and no profiling.
- No advertising, no remarketing, no selling or renting anything about you.
- No reading your memory. Not for training, not for quality, not for support, not for anything.
- No collecting from children on purpose. The App is not aimed at under-16s.
Keeping it safe
Your memory is as safe as the machine it sits on, which puts most of this in your hands: disk encryption, a screen lock, and who else can use your computer matter more here than anything we do.
What we are responsible for is that the App does not send your memory anywhere you did not ask it to. If you find a case where it does, that is a security problem and we want to hear about it: hello@prio.now.
How this policy changes
Every version of this policy has an address of its own. This one is version 1.0, and it stays where it is for good. We do not edit a published version, we publish the next one.
prio.now/privacy/desktop always points at whichever version is current. When something changes we give it a new number, that link starts resolving there, and this page picks up a notice saying what replaced it and when.
The App is new, and some of what is described here will be built out after 1.0 is published. If a change adds something that leaves your machine, we will say so plainly rather than leave a version number to do the talking, and where it needs your consent we will ask before it applies to you.
